Inked!

I FINALLY got my first tattoo! I'm so happy! After two days of running to tattoo shops to see if they'd do my tattoo (without an appointment, 'cause I'm super smart), the lovely Bambi and The Holy Mackerel (Downtown St. Paul, for any Minnesotans interested!) gave me my pretty pretty Minnesota.
She even gave me the color for free! For a grand total of $72, including tip, my ankle got tortured and I now am branded with my homestate forever.
Yesterday, we went in to The Holy Mackerel in an attempt to get it done, but Bambi told me that it, unfortunately, wasn't her walk in day. My friend Sarah, however, got her Septum pierced by master piercer and owner of the Mackerel, Verno.

Cleaning her nose, eeeew!
We fell in love with the shop, and Verno. He's pretty much the coolest guy I've ever met. He was very professional, and just a real nice guy. He didn't mind Dana and I tagging along in the piercing room (which is full of crazy art), and kept calling Sarah "Ladypants". Needless to say, it was a good experience.
We decided, after some more desperarte tattoo shop hopping, The Holy Mackerel was the best place. This morning, at a little after noon (and after some Taco Bell), we went back, and Bambi got me ready for my tattoo. It only took about 20 minutes, and turned out exactly how I wanted it.
I'm so happy about it! I can't wait to get more tattoos. Thanks to Bambi and the whole team at the Mackerel!

Getting inked!
